[Request Name]
Convert times in to local times
[Description]
I would like it if the private list and the calendar listing dates were acurate for local time zones. Ie a show is on at 9pm Central well that is usually around 5pm the next day in Aussie time.
Like on the calendar all the shows are a day behind for me.

I may be the only person who cares about this but I thought I'd ask. |

Great idea, a +10 time shift would help with my brain trauma!

This has been an idea since this project started.
The first problem is show times are not stored in the database.
The second problem is getting a really good time zone rule list.
Take Stargate airing on US scifi chan, Friday 9/8C
The C must be Central Time, but when is that CST and CDT.
When does CDT(GMT-5) change to CST(GMT-6)?
Now I live in the UK, and we use GMT and BST(GMT+1).
So you see the mess Daylight Saving has given us. |

I suffer from this issue too, but there is an easy solution that doesn't require having the show times, at least in my mind- i may not have thought this through.
Presumably a show has an airdate, and the show is deemed to be released based on whether the date of the show has passed the current date.
If a timeshift was added (ie: -12 for me) to an options page, then that timeshift was added to/subtracted from "current date" before the compare took place, then wouldn't this suffice, and get around the timezone conversion problem?
The site already figures out if a show has aired as it shows up in the "Relevant Episode" column if you have watched all other episodes of the show so it is a case of adding or subtracting this "time correction factor" from the "current date". |

Correct if I'm wrong, but doesn't this site get its listings information from TVRage.com?
They do have airing times there, would it be too difficult to bring the time over from there?
I'm creating an iCal feed for my Google Calendar based on my RSS feeds and I'd LOVE to have the airing times available in there |

I've filed a bug on this very subject here:
http://www.myepisodes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=450
It's not a "request for enhancement" or a "feature request" because timezone handling is actually inconsistent on the site and here's how you confirm it:
Go to "Profile -> Control Panel" and set your TimeZone (hmm, bad capitalisation there ) to "-24". Click on "Save" and then go to the home page and click on "Today's Shows". Sure enough, it displays yesterday's shows as you'd expect. However, look virtually at any other part of the site - e.g. the Calendar - and the timezone setting is incorrectly ignored (everything should be one day later).
I used "-24" as an example because it's *exactly* what people who mostly download TV shows need (all shows listed one day after they air on US TV) - you might use something closer to zero if you're not in the UK like I am though. |
