[Request Name]
Include option to change Episode numbering.

[Description]
Basically I'd like an option to change the way the episodes are numbered. As it is now the episodes are numbered on a per season basis but some series have their episodes numbered continually through the seasons.

For example some series list their episodes as S02E13 but others may call that episode 032. It makes it hard to match up episodes when you don't know which season it is from, especially when the series has a lot of seasons/episodes. This becomes especially hard to match up with things like Japanese anime series when the episode name may not match exactly the same as the one listed.

Maybe when you add your season there could be a radio button to select seasonal numbering or incremental numbering.

Just thinking about it.... Instead of having an option to change the numbering maybe just have both numbering systems showing at the same time....?

Here's an example of a series on tvrage showing both episode numbering:

The latest episode shown is 215th in the series but it's the 7th episode of season 9. All the episodes I would download would be numbered with the first number, hence being able to see that in myepisodes would make things a lot easier.

Hey thanks for that but I'm not sure how to use this to change it so I can see the episode number as a value from the end of the season.

Could you give us some examples of usage for this please?

From what I can see the default value %02sx%02s is broken down like this:

%02s - shows the season value with 2 digits
x - shows an x
%02s - shows the episode value with 2 digits in the current season

so how do I manipulate this to show the episode number as a total from season 1?

Sorry Bunta, my mistake.

I meant the format could be changed not the actual numbers.

just as a side note, the formatting of show numbering doesn't seem to apply to the All-In-One page

(or comment)

Is it possible to allow the episode number column to either extend or force a no-wrap?

I personally use a format 01x05 - Title. Can set the format to have the hyphen, but forces the column to span two rows.

No major drama, just something I noticed.

Cheers.

S02E13 is my naming scheme of choice.

I see in the Control Panel, My Episodes section is the option for setting:
Season & Episode numbering Format

Could somebody help me with changing %02sx%02s so that it works with the S02E13 format.

Thanks!

I know this is quite late, but type   instead of a space, and it won't wrap.

Thanks Very Happy

Figured that one out a while back but never updated the post. Works a charm. Still get silly leading and trailing spaces into explorer; however nothing the backspace key does not fix!

Love the site; scared very deeply when it went offline a few weeks back!
