Anything like any of these are very welcome.

Thanks for the list. Found one series I liked: Killer Instinct. Some of them sounded a bit interesting but where cancelled and I hate series that end "before their time".

Edit: In other words, I hate fox-series. Wink

Edit2: I'd very much welcome some more lists with series that still run/where completed.

Oh yeah - also just got hooked on a series called 'Epitafios' - it aired on HBO-Latino and is really good if you don't mind subtitles.

I think this will be a returning series too...hopefully

I do mind subtitles though. It means I have to sit right in front of the monitor instead of watching from the sofa or bed.

Thanks anyway though. Smile

Arrested Development. Not like the others, but the best comedy currently airing though, will be ccanceled soon.

If you look through my list you will not find many (if any) comedies. Also, as I metioned, I don't want series that end before their time. I hate geting to know characters just as a series ends.

No worries. Arrested Development won't end before its time: judging from the quality of this season - its best days have already passed. Even still, a fantastic show.

My suggested additions to your list: Smallville and LOST. Both are just sci-fi enough to fit the bill - and overall, absolutely magnificent television.

I hate lost. Used to like it in the begining but then it became obvious they concentrated more on making cliffhangers than an interesting story. I prefer things where progress is made, where once in a while there are more revelations than questions.

Smallville... Can't really tell you why I stopped following that. I stopped somewhere in season 3 iirc. Maybe I'll pick it up again to see if my feelings have changed.

God how I wish someone would inform me there is a new star trek series I just, for some unexplicable reason never heard of. Wink

I recommend

alive:
Veronica Mars
Coupling (sitcom)

dead/done:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (ended gracefully)
Angel (5 seasons were not enough)
Firefly (ended before it began)
X-files (went on too long actually)
Friends (sitcom)

If you haven't seen Babylon 5 yet I recommend that as well. It's a bit like Battlestar Galactica but better (IMHO). Just know that it's an older show and while the graphics were stunning for its time, now they might seem outdated (the graphics were all done on Amiga renderfarms, very cutting edge back then).

Here's a listing of some of the shows I like the best:
--- Finished ---
Andromeda (better than Enterprise)
Buffy (This has got to be my alltime favourite show)
Dark Angel (only 2 seasons, you might call it cancelled)
Star Trek Voyager (I still think this is the best trek out there)

--- Cancelled before their time but still worthy ---
Dead Like me (very dark comedy)
Eyes (detective show, only 6 eps aired in USA, 12 floating around on the net but they are well worth the watch)
Fastlane (22 eps. GREAT show)
Firefly (13 eps. another great)
Wonderfalls

--- Ongoing ---
Criminal Minds (bit like CSI, less science, more psychology)
Entourage (great little drama/comedy about a movie star)
Hustle (UK series about con artist doing the long con, new series ariving in 2006)
Initial D (Anime show on cars, hey, i'm a guy :P)
Las Vegas
Lost
Numb3rs
Regenesis
Surface (somehow this show gets better after 10 eps)
The 4400 (when are the new eps coming out! I can't wait!)
The O.C. (add a touch of drama / teens)
Veronica Mars (great detective show, a bit like Eyes but geared towards teenagers)

--- Shows I watch for the Actresses ---
Ghost Whisperer (Jennifer Love Hewitt)
Gilmore Girls (Alexis Bledel AND Lauren Graham)
Grey's Anatomy (Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl)
