It should be possible to have a public profile. That way friends and others can see what I'm watching. Like last.fm and other similar sites. Many people have a last.fm link in their profile in different forums, and I think this would be a cool feature. |

Yes, I just had this idea myself, this would be excellent.
It should be possible to enable/disable this feature per user, and be disabled by default. |

Good call!
It would be nice if this could be some last.fm'ish profile page, where people can see what shows you are watching and have watched in the past.
[edit] ah, last.fm has been mentioned in the thead opening. Exactly my thought! |

I agree.
And maybe it could show the "time wasted" also.
That way you could easily check who is in the lead, you or your friend |

This is not a bad idea but an even better idea would be a API that would empower users to create open social applications so that the information can be shared on the social networks already in place is stead of creating a whole new one ;D
So what do you say Iceman ... API or No-API ? ;D |

I put my hand up for this too, would be very useful.
1 extra option that would make it perfect is option to not show specific shows, or specify which shows to make public, so closet desperate housewives fans can stay in the closet but otherwise allow others to track whats being watched.
To follow from that a little stats page wouldn't be hard to do. eg, Avg time to watch an epi after release, ie the "has a life" rating.. For all myepisodes.com users, most popular show within the last week/month/year |

+1, but only if public profiles is opt-in only (if I don't want to, no one can view my profile). Or to say it in other words: If I want to, I can set my profiel as hidden. |

I will make it - if you can be MUCH clearer on what this public profile is.
What is it exactly you want?
Much of the time when I read a request, I just sit and think ... sure we could make this and that, no problem ... but when I start on the requests I never know what and how you want it displayed. This goes for most request, and then I have to sit and be the inventor and try to please everyone.
This time we will try something new ... you guys will tell me exactly what it is you want and how you want it to work and look - then I will try to accommodate your needs.
Now ... go make some pictures and screenshots and upload them to this topic surprise me, show me all your good ideas.
I will make the "public profile" optional in the control panel - so you can chose to disabled it if you are afraid of big brother. |

IMO it would be enough if you could just see all the shows someone's watching and which episode the user's seen last, like on "All-In-One" page, nothing fancy. That's pretty much everything you would need to show for someone who wants to know what shows you're following. |

The nicest way according o me would be if you can search members and have a friends list. When you click your friends you can se there profile. ("All in one" and "Time I've wasted")
And in the control panel it would be nice to be able to choose if you want others to be able to see your profile or not. |

Hello, just giving this idea a bump!
I like daft's screenshot, but I'd prefer if I could filter out the Ignored shows and the Canceled/Ended shows that I've seen all/the last episodes (I have some series that I picked up from the 2nd season or so, which makes watching the LAST episode more meaningful and useful). Just filtering out Canceled/Ended doesn't sound good to me because I could be watching an old show, and filtering by the status wouldn't reflect that.
So basically, I'd love to see daft's suggestion with the following options:
- filter out ignored shows
- filter out old shows that I've seen to the end -or- that I've seen all episodes (maybe let the user pick on a profile wide or show-by-show basis)
Thanks!
P.S.: The same options could be applicable to MySignature, too! _________________ IdNotFound |
